Our story takes place in the last days of Venice, in 2040. Ezra Glass, CEO of Infin8, is throwing a masquerade ball at the grand old Palazzo Cremisi, which is slowly crumbling into the sea. But this is not merely an elegant ball. Ezra has gathered members of the shadowy and powerful elite to invest in ‘The 8’; a limitless energy device which has the potential to change the world. If ‘The 8’ matches up to Ezra’s promises, it will create a new age for humanity; with those who invested in it firmly at the centre of a new world order.

World intelligence agencies have issued warnings about attending the event but the ‘The 8’s potential is too alluring. Under the cover of darkness, with masks protecting their anonymity from spies in their midst, the guests disembark from gondolas and excitedly gather inside the spectacular Palazzo Cremisi. The exclusive and secretive masquerade ball promises the decadence of old Venice blended with the limitless possibility of the new. But long before the first glasses of luxury champagne are raised, numerous plots of betrayal, theft and murder are already in motion.
